This year’s Ritmo Conference explores the transformative power of music in conflict, hardship, on urban and social change, as well as our mental and physical health. Two days discussing the direct impact and wonder of music, guided by international experts, innovators and practitioners. Budapest Ritmo Conference adds intellectual and experiential layers to the festival, while providing a platform to discuss the hottest topics of the scene and build community. 

PRO Pass holders are granted access to all events of Budapest Ritmo Conference. The official language of the conference is English.

Who is coming?

Exhibition “Ukrainian jazzmen at war”

House of Music, Lecture Room

“Ukrainian jazzmen at war” is a photo project that aims to tell the stories of jazz musicians who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Territorial Defence with weapons in their hands. The project presents photos of the musicians: one from their pre-war life featuring their active concert and festival activities, the other from their current military life.

The project was initiated by the Ukrainian Institute and was produced in partnership with Jazzography.in.ua.

Entry with PRO pass only, between April 14, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and April 15, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Venue of Budapest Ritmo Conference

The newly opened center planned by Japanese star architect Sou Fujimoto is an iconic contemporary architectural masterpiece. The diverse range of events in House of Music Hungary provides a plethora of musical experiences, including exhibitions, concerts, playing music together, singing, dance, exciting music education workshops and lecture courses. The mission of House of Music is to promote music, the values of Hungarian folk, classical, popular music and other global genres.
