The unique culture of Ruhnu, a small island on the Baltic sea with less than hundred inhabitants would have submerged, if not for a handful of young musicians. They have taken the Swedish-Estonian musical and oral heritage, banished by Soviet oppression, and revived it in a love-project. Karoliina Kreintaal, Sänni Noormets, Lee Taul and Kairi Leivo use nothing but violins and their voices, like the olden days. Hear the stories, melodies and legends of the island’s dwellers in straightforward folk rendition.
