12-15 April 2023, Budapest
In her lecture, Patricia Caicedo, a soprano, musicologist, and physician, takes us on an interdisciplinary journey to discover the connection between music—its performance, how we listen, and why we enjoy it—and health.
Based on the latest research, she reveals how the brain works when you listen to and make music and the relationship between pleasure, emotion, and music.
She shows how music has been a crucial element of the human experience since the beginning of the species, how it is fundamental for maintaining healthy individuals and communities, and how music increases our creativity and produces happiness and a sense of purpose.
The panel is organized in collaboration with International Music Council.
