Patricia Caicedo is a soprano, a musicologist, and a physician whose scholarship and performances center around Latin American and Iberian art songs and the intersection of music and health.
She has released eleven albums and published numerous scholarly editions of scores and books, including The Latin American Art Song: Sounds of the Imagined Nations, the go-to history on its subject, and her groundbreaking book, We are what we listen to: the impact of music on individual and social health.
She has performed around the world in addition to founding and directing the Barcelona Festival of Song. Patricia is often invited to present lectures and masterclasses at prestigious universities and conservatories worldwide.
Her interest in exploring the possibilities of technology brought her to create Mundo Arts, an Internet company that developed into a Music Publisher, a Record label, and an Online Store.
Patricia holds a Ph.D. in musicology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Medical Doctor’s degree from the Escuela Colombiana de Medicina. She is a former Board Member of the International Music Council.
